Bushra Ansari is one of my most favorite Pakistani Actresses. I used to watch recordings of ‘Angan Tehra’ and Fifty Fifty as a kid and loved her characters. Anyways, I was shocked when I recently saw her on TV with a very obvious “plastic surgery gone wrong” face. I believe she received a face lift and upper and lower eye lid blepharoplasty. I can’t emphasize what an awful job the plastic surgeon did on her eyes. They look slanted and weird and I am guessing she’s using that heavy eye shadow to hide her scars. I really feel bad for her, coz this is pretty much a permanent disfigurement. Any attempts to ‘correct’ this will only make it worse. That’s why I am a fan of fillers coz they aren’t permanent and a botched job won’t be on your face forever.

Socialites all over the world get their selves ‘fixed’ after a certain age, so why would our Desi Aunties be any different?? As can clearly be seen in the above comparison, Nina used to have a saggy neck before she went under the knife to have it pulled and tightened. I must commend her choice of plastic surgeon as her neck looks excellant now. I wish I could say the same about her botox job.. sigh!! when will our aunties learn that Botox over dose makes you look shiny and STUPID. I mean you might as well hang a banner around your neck that says “I am a BOTOX junkie” because believe me, even a four year old can tell you get Botox. So please save your self the embarassement of having to lie to people why your skin looks so weird, and quit over dozing.

Not too long ago, the Shareef Brothers had shiny heads which they proudly flaunted in their public rallies. There were never any attempts to cover up and they both reminded you of your cute bald uncles. Fast forward ten years, a military coup and an Arab exile and they both look like an Advertisement out of a hair restoration magazine( and a bad at that!!!). All I can say is WTF dudes?? Every single Pakistani has seen your shiny heads for over TWO FREAKING DECADES so WHAT’S the point of this madness? I can’t decide whether you two look creepy or clownish or simply bad stage actors who crack lame jokes about their receding hairline…NOT COOL!!!

A couture designer’s job is not just to create fabulous outfits but to understand the body of their clients and make them look their best. Maheen Kardar is the ‘head designer’ of Karma, yet time and again, she shows up to events in frumpy outfits that show case her unsightly arms. PLEASE, either contact your nearest plastic surgeon or start covering up. Thank you

Alot of us( including me) suffer from different forms and intensity of hyper pigmentation. In recent years, I have started developing alot of sun spots on my face. So what options are there for people like me who have sun spots/ freckles and other forms of hyper pigmentation:
Creams: Creams with Kojic Acid or Licorice help ligthen dark spots but need to be used regulary for a few months before any real change can be seen. Retinoids (Vitamin A based creams) are also shown to be effective but make the skin very sensitive and also cause some skin peeling. Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) based creams are known to be somewhat effective but because of the low percentage of AHAs in the cream, these need to be used on a regular basis. One new ‘breakthrough’ discovery is using Manganese Peptides for safe and effective skin lightening. I personally haven’t used this and can’t comment, but per my dermatologist, this is no better than kojic/licorice/retinoids.
So what cream to buy?????? If you want to go the cream route, then, Hydroquinone is THE best solution for the treatment of hyperpigmentation. With regular use, it is very effective in ligthening up the skin and clearing up the patchy areas. HOWEVER, Hydroquinone gets obsorbed by the human body and after a point it will stop working. So after 3 months of regular use, take a 3 months break and you’ll see great results. ( As a side note, some countries have banned Hydroquinone as it is believed to be a Carcinogen, but there is no Scientific evidence to support this belief).

Before and After of Patient who used Hydroquinone for 3 months.
Laser
This is a very effective way of getting rid of hyper pigmentation as the laser targets Melanin in the skin, causing it to break up. Freckles/sunspots become form scabs and drop off the skin. Unfortunately for us desi folks, this method can end up harming our skin. As our entire skin is naturally dark, not only will our sunspots/ freckles absorb the laser’s energy, but so will our entire face which may cause burning and may actually cause further darkening of the skin. I personally know some people who got this treatment done only to get MORE freckles on their face as well as BURNS!!!. For tan/olive/dark skins, the laser needs to be on a precise setting. ONLY go for this option, if the dermatologist/ plastic surgeon/ medical esthetician has ample experience with dark skin. My dermatologist refused to perform this treatment as she said it is unsafe for Asian skin.
Chemical Peel
A chemical peel is typically received at a dermatologists office and is a concentrated form of either Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) or Beta Hydroxy Acid (BHA). Depending on the concentration of the acid( 20%,35%, 50%, 55% or 745%), it is left on the patient’s skin for 2-5 minutes. During the treatment you will feel the acid stinging your face and it can be mildly uncomfortable. The acid acts as a stimulus to accelerate the skins renewal process. Typically your skin will ‘peel’ for a week after the treament (and you will look weird). But once the peeling is complete, your skin’s texture will dramatically improve. Depending on the severity of the hyper pigmentation, you might need 2-5 sessions of peels to remove all signs of skin darkening. Again PICK an experienced doctor to perform this treatment on you coz a novice will probably burn your skin.

Yes folks!!! I couldn’t believe my eyes either!! this is the one and only Deepika of Om Shanti Om fame. This pic was posted on rediff by a user who ran into her at some airport. I swear if I didn’t know better, I would’ve mistaken her for my Maid’s daughter ( who btw beats Deepika in the looks department on all accounts). Goes to show there is no such thing as ‘natural beauty’, take away everyone’s makeup, outfits, skin care stuff and plastic surgeries and we all look the same!!!!!!!!!!!

I’ve received several requests to post Katrina Kaif on this site and determine what she’s had done. In all honesty, I found it hard to get hold of candid pix of Katrina. Photoshoots hardly do any justice as photoshopping/ contouring make it hard to determine the person’s real features. In any case, I think Katrina appears to have received a nose job. The pic to the right is from the premier of her latest flick ‘New York’. Last year, there was some rumor of her getting injured on her nose on set and having needed ‘medical’ assistance . It could’ve been a geniune accident, or it could’ve been a cover up for a nose job ( as is typically the case). I’ll let you guys be the judge of this one:)

Has dating the vivicious and young Kareena Kapoor made Saif look and feel young ? Rumours mills are going crazy that our Chotte Nawab has used botox for his home production ‘Love Aaj Kal’ in which he stars oppostie the (much younger) Deepika. The pictures above, clearly show that some serious ironing of facial wrinkles has taken place. But is it just botox or also a face lift?? A source revealed,
“Saif was wearing shades to a lot of events just after he got the job done. This was done to hide the signs. Now that the after-effects have worn out, he steps out in day light without the shades.”
Botox neither leaves any track marks on yor face (or bruises for that matter) nor does it make your eyes sensitive to the sun. Then what could Saif be hiding under those glasses?? My guess is, he received under eye blepharoplasty to remove saggy skin or under eye bag. What do you guys think??
